The Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB) as the Designated Delivery Agent is responsible for the provision of Land Ambulance Services within the District of Cochrane.
Fundamental Principles of EMS (Emergency Medical Services)
-The service will be accessible, intergrated, seamless, accountable and responsive;
-The land ambulance service provided is in accordance with the Ambulance Act Regulations, and other relevant legislation.
Based upon a thorough district-wide review of the services, the present capabilities of the CDSSAB and the existing operators and input from community stakeholders, it was recommended that the CDSSAB contract with the existing ambulance service providers. A division of the CDSSAB was created to identify Land Ambulance Services and is collectively known throughout the district as "Cochrane District EMS".
