Water & Sewer
The main function of the Public Works Department is to provide the required maintenance of all roads, sidewalks, sanitary sewers, water mains, lanes, parking lots, ditches, bridges, etc. In addition, the department is responsible for garbage collection and maintenance of sanitary landfills and recycling operations. Public Works also maintains all municipal vehicles and equipment.

The Town of Kapuskasing has a water metering system with external reading capability.

Why we meter your water?
Water meters ensure that you are only charged for the water consumption of your household.
Why is my water bill suddenly very high?
There are a number of possible explanations. It could be due to higher water consumption as a result of:
- A change in the household such as new tenants, new owners, more people or visitors
- New appliances such as a water-cooled air conditioner, dishwasher, hot water tank, heating system or lawn sprinkler system
- Plumbing problems, leaks or toilet seepage
