Winter Attractions 

Sports Palace & Curling Club

The Sports Palace and the Curling Club - Kapuskasing Regional Conference Complex - features two skating surfaces and five curling surfaces. The staff is kept busy during the winter months with a steady flow of hockey, ringette, curling, figure skating and recreational skating. The facility is also a multi-purpose centre open to the public during all seasons for an expanded variety of sporting, leisure, cultural and educational activities. The complex is wheelchair accessible and offers conventional amenities such as meeting rooms, a kitchen, a stage and a sound system. Kap Nordic Skiers

The Kap Nordic Skiers offer excellently groomed trails for skiing. The trails cater to both snow skaters and skiers with many kilometers of cross-country trails, convenient stations and a comfortable main chalet. For information contact the Kap Nordic Skiers at 705-337-1045 or visit the website

 

Kap Sno Rovers

Snowmobiling is a popular activity in the Kapuskasing area. The Kap Sno Rovers welcome approximately 950 members. Kapuskasing snowmobile trails are linked to the Trans-Ontario Snowmobile Trail System, attracting more enthusiasts each year. Kapuskasing Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights is one of the more popular events in Kapuskasing. It kicks off mid-November and continues until mid-January. The festival consists of several winter activities including the lighting of thousands of Christmas lights in the Riverside Park. 

 

Kapuskasing Winter Carnival

During the festival, Kapuskasing highlights its most precious commodity - snow. The Kapuskasing Winter Carnival consists of events and activities including kids activities, hockey, skating activities, evening dances, breakfasts & suppers and fireworks.
