The Kapuskasing EDC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to business development.

We meet our mandate by engaging in the following activities:

• Assisting with funding proposals

The Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) is a tax applied to short-term accommodation stays in the Town of Kapuskasing. This investment-focused tax helps support local tourism growth, enhance community events, and improve visitor experiences throughout our region.

Revenues generated from the MAT are reinvested back into the community to:

• Promote Kapuskasing as a destination for business and leisure travel

• Enhance local events and festivals

• Support tourism marketing and community development initiatives

• Strengthen the hospitality and service sectors

By contributing to a vibrant tourism economy, the MAT plays an important role in strengthening local businesses and showcasing the best of what Kapuskasing has to offer.
