Hunting
Kapuskasing boasts a wide variety of wildlife consisting of both large and small animals. The preferred large game includes moose and black bear, while the favoured small game includes ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, sharptail grouse and snowshoe hare. Commercial fur-bearing animals such as beaver, lynx, otter, mink, marten, weasel, muskrat, wolf, fox and red squirrel are also common in the area. Several species of waterfowl live in the region of Kapuskasing including golden-eye duck, mallard, mergansers and ring-necked duck. Other migratory birds such as the Canada goose also make regular stops in the area. |
