Purchasing & Tendering Policy
The Municipal Act, 2001, Section 270, as amended, requires that a municipality shall adopt and maintain policies with respect to the procurement of goods and services. The Corporation of the Town of Kapuskasing has developed the following purchasing policy principles for the municipality. The purpose of the policy is as follows:
- To ensure that all purchases provide the lowest costs consistent with the required quality and service
- To provide for an open and transparent process that is fair and impartial
- To provide for a process that is accountable and transparent to the public
- To promote and maintain the integrity of the purchasing process by providing clear directions and accountability
- To encourage the Kapuskasing economy by supporting local businesses and local manufacturing plant

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The Municipality reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
- Successful bidders will be contacted within 10 business days after the bid closing.
- Full payment is due within 5 business days of award notice.
- Equipment must be removed from municipal property within ten (10) days of payment.
