Public Works Foreman

Permanent, Full Time - (Non-Union)
Salary Range: $91,193 to $99,649

The Town of Kapuskasing is seeking an experienced and motivated Public Works Foreman with strong
leadership skills and a solid background in municipal operations. The ideal candidate is a practical,
hands-on leader who can effectively direct crews, coordinate work, and maintain high standards of safety,
efficiency, and service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in an engineering field or related construction experience
• Minimum five (5) years related supervisory experience in a relevant field, preferably municipal
• Background in project management and surveying, with a thorough understanding of surveying practices
• Experience with procurement processes, including purchasing, tendering, and contract administration,
  and the use of supporting software systems
• Excellent administrative, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of financial accounting, as well as operational and capital budgets is required
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and AutoCAD; experience with an Incident Management System (IMS) is an asset
• Strong leadership ability combined with excellent public relations, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Valid Class “G” driver’s licence with a clear drivers abstract
• Must obtain Water Distribution and Sanitary Collection Class 1 Certificate
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and French is an asset
