The Town of Kapuskasing Appoints Chantal Guillemette as Chief Administrative Officer

Kapuskasing, ON – As Mayor, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Chantal Guillemette to the position of Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Kapuskasing pursuant to Section 284.5 of Municipal Act.
This appointment was made with the assistance of a hiring Committee appointed by Council composed of Councillors Dinnissen, Munnoch, and the Mayor; followed by consultation with the full Council. The decision to appoint her was made following a formal recruitment process that attracted applications from across the country. I know that her appointment will receive broad support both within the organization and in the broader community.
With over 26 years of experience in municipal administration and a strong commitment to public service, Ms. Guillemette brings extensive knowledge of municipal operations, strategic leadership, and community development. Her dedication to our community, in-depth understanding of municipal governance, and forward-thinking approach makes her exceptionally well-suited to lead the organization. We look forward to working with her to support continued growth and service excellence in Kapuskasing.
Chantal Guillemette has served the Town in various leadership capacities and has been employed with the Municipality since 1999 where she has held a number of positions, most recently as Municipal Clerk since 2016. She has also been an active member of numerous community groups and active in many municipal professional organizations, having received the accreditation of Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk in 2018.
In her new role as CAO, Ms. Guillemette will oversee the daily operations of the municipality, provide strategic direction to municipal staff, and support Council in achieving its vision and priorities for the Town of Kapuskasing.
