Public Works Foreman - Permanent, Full-Time (Non-Union)
Salary Range: $91,193 to $99,649
Probationary Period: 6 months
Reports to: Public Works General Manager

The Town of Kapuskasing is seeking an experienced and motivated Public Works Foreman with strong
leadership skills and a solid background in municipal operations. The ideal candidate is a practical,
hands-on leader who can effectively direct crews, coordinate work, and maintain high standards of safety,
efficiency, and service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in an engineering field or related construction experience
- Minimum five (5) years related supervisory experience in a relevant field, preferably municipal
- Background in project management and surveying, with a thorough understanding of surveying practices
- Experience with procurement processes, including purchasing, tendering, and contract administration,
and the use of supporting software systems - Excellent administrative, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of financial accounting, as well as operational and capital budgets is required
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and AutoCAD; experience with an Incident Management System (IMS) is an asset
- Strong leadership ability combined with excellent public relations, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Valid Class “G” driver’s licence with a clear drivers abstract
- Must obtain Water Distribution and Sanitary Collection Class 1 Certificate
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and French is an asset

Public Works Labourer

Reporting to the General Manager of Public Works or the Public Works Foreman, the Labourer will assist with routine maintenance and a variety of construction projects in support of the Public Works Department.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum grade 12 education or equivalent experience
- Must have and maintain a current “DZ” driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience in trades (Surveying, Grade Person, etc. will be considered an asset.

Municipal Law Enforcement Officer II
Temporary, Full-Time (Non-Union)
Hourly Wage: $31.14
Reports to: Chief Building Officer/Director of Planning
Probation Period: 12 months
Vacancy Status: Maternity Leave (expected duration is 12-18 months)
Reporting to the Chief Building Official/Director of Planning, the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer II will enforce the provisions of municipal by-laws such as parking, animal control, building, property standards and other by-laws as required. Must be available to work flexible hours which may include weekend.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a college diploma in a related field (e.g. Law Enforcement);
- Membership or eligible for membership with the Municipal Law
Enforcement Association of Ontario (MLEO) is an asset; - Knowledge of investigation practices and procedures, excellent research skills;
- Knowledge of courtroom procedures;
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, negotiation, problem solving,
diplomacy, tact and customer service skills in both official languages; - Strong organizational skills in filing, database management and records maintenance;
- Skilled in office administration;
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License.

Airport Maintenance and Equipment Operator
Permanent, Full-Time (Union)
Hourly Wage: $29.22 (as per the Collective Agreement)
Reports to: Airport Manager
Shift: Day shift with rotational on-call
Vacancy Status: Vacant
Reporting to the Airport Manager, the Maintenance and Equipment Operator is responsible to assist in the operation and maintenance of the Corporation's Airport facilities, properties and equipment. The incumbent will also report to the General Manger of Public Works as required.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum grade 12 education or equivalent experience
- Must have and maintain a current “DZ” driver’s license
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment operation
- Valid Ontario Mechanics License for Heavy-Duty Equipment is an asset
- Must possess or be willing to obtain work related safety training required and provided by the Corporation
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid Firearm Acquisition Certificate, Restricted Radio Telephone License, Valid Airside Vehicle Operators Permit
- Must be proficient in the English language for radio communication
- Knowledge and experience of procedures, acts, guidelines including TP 312, 5 Edition, B836-05 handbook and SDS system is an asset
- Knowledge of airport terminology is an asset
