Economic Development Officer

Permanent, Full Time - Salaried position
Annual Salary: $76,670 to $83,779

Reporting to the KEDC Board of Directors, The Economic Development Officer for the Town of Kapuskasing plays a pivotal role in advancing the economic prosperity and sustainability of our community.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in business, economics, public administration, engineering or a related field is preferred.
Three (3) years of experience in economic development, preferably in a leadership role, with a proven track record of successful projects and initiatives.
Experience working with government agencies, including grant applications and compliance with government programs.
Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee complex economic development projects and initiatives.
Experience in engaging with the community, including businesses, local organizations, and residents, to drive economic development efforts.
Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to support economic development activities.
Valid Class “G” driver’s license. Ability and willingness to travel within the community and out of town as required.
Demonstrated leadership and excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English languages.

Rate: $ 27.88 Labourer (September 1, 2024)
$31.93 Parks and Recreation Attendant (September 1, 2024)

Reporting to the General Manager of Public Works or the Public Works Foreman, the Labourer will assist with routine maintenance and a variety of construction projects in support of the Public Works Department.

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum grade 12 education or equivalent experience;
Must have and maintain a current “DZ” driver’s license;
Knowledge and experience in trades (Surveying, Grade Person, etc.) will be considered an asset;
